Two and a half miles away, lies Bamburgh with its magnificent castle, un spoilt beaches and sand dunes, it can be easily accessed from the cottage on foot or by car.
Here you will also find various quality places to enjoy an evening meal or
afternoon lunch most of which provide local specialities. Oh! and make sure
you sample Carters Butchers and Clarks Greengrocery both of which provide local
quality produce.
The area as a whole has an abundance of beautiful countryside, towns and villages with opportunities for walking, fishing, golfing, cycling, diving and endless other pursuits. There are also boat trips to the Farne Islands from Seahouses, where you will see many bird and seal colonies, and if you happen to visit in October or November you should be able to see the newly born seal pups quite clearly from the boats.
The area is steeped in history with many castles, National Trust properties, stately homes, and wildlife habitats.
